Customers may experience delays in receiving email to their VCU email account. The delay is related to a global issue with our Cisco email security appliances which has been identified and resolved. Queued email is being delivered.

Customers are experiencing delays in receiving email to their VCU email accounts sent by VCU Health email accounts. VCU Health has determined the cause of the issue and is actively working to resolve it.

[closed] Currently our primary ISP connection is down and all internet connectivity has successfully been redirected to our backup link.  Network Services is currently reaching out to our primary ISP to resolve and determine nature of the outage.  A follow up post will be made once more information is known.

On Friday January 20th, Network Services will be removing guest wireless accounts that were created prior to 2022.  The guest network will remain active during this change and the accounts being deleted will lose access.  Accounts are being removed to stay within the vendor recommended threshold for the total number of guest accounts.

VCU Learning Systems has recently discovered an error within the Canvas Gradebook with use of the notes column. The column can appear blank if text has been entered at one point and the page has been refreshed. The content is still present, but not shown in the user interface. You can see your notes if you download the gradebook and open it in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. This issue is known by the vendor, and their engineering team is investigating. On December 20th starting at 9:30pm, the certificate that is used for authentication on SafeNet will be updated from to  This change is not expected to cause any disruption of the authentication service itself.  Users may need to accept the new certificate when connecting to SafeNet. Users may notice files and/or folders temporarily disappearing in a Shared Drive they are a member of, which can impact locating a file or folder and may falsely give the appearance it has been removed from the Shared Drive where it was originally found.

Workaround: The missing items can often reappear after refreshing (several times may be necessary) or opening the Shared Drive in an Incognito or private browsing window.

The issue has been identified by the vendor and it is being worked on. There is currently no ETA on a resolution.
