Important notice regarding changes for Google Calendar events in Canadian Time Zones

Due to upcoming changes with several Canadian Time Zones (British Columbia, Alberta, the Northwest Territories, and Manitoba) where those time zones will be enacting permanent Daylight Savings Time (removal of the annual one hour shift every Fall), Google Calendar will be providing automatic time zone adjustments for a majority of events and will be providing clear suggestions and markers to convert manually for events that can’t be converted automatically, such as for certain types of repeating events. These automatic conversions are being applied starting today through October 31st and visible indicators will begin being displayed starting October 7th.

Note: The Manitoba time zone will have these changes applied in mid-October.

The visual indicators will be as shown below:

Events that extend past November 1 will show a ! symbol next to the event title

After clicking on an event, a suggestion will appear to ‘Move one hour earlier’.
