VCU’s REDCap instance will be taken offline for migration to a new database platform. This will cause a complete outage of services.

The outage will begin on Friday 9/26/2025 at 5:00 p.m. Services are projected to return to normal by Saturday 9/27/2025 at 9:00 a.m.

We anticipate the following impacts:

  • Users will not be able to log into REDCap.
  • Surveys will be inaccessible.
  • Scheduled alerts, notifications, and survey invitations which normally would have sent during the outage will be delayed. This may cause multiple reminders to be sent close together when the system comes back online.
  • Scheduled data exports will not run.

For up-to-date notifications on REDCap and other VCU systems, we encourage you to register for updates on the VCU IT Alerts system by following the directions to subscribe.

We realize that outages of this length can be disruptive to operations, and we appreciate your patience.
